No New Jail Coalition does not want a new jail in Marion County. We want the resources proposed for the new ‘Justice Campus’ to be used for supportive services and programs, independent of the criminal justice system, for marginalized individuals throughout Marion County.
No New Jail Coalition believes in the power of community members to create a city that opens opportunity to all, where all people have the resources they need to live, thrive, and contribute to their world.
Please like and follow the No New Jail page on Facebook and stop by our weekly open hours on Tuesdays from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. at the John H. Boner Center at 2236 E. 10th St. to talk with coalition members, learn more about our efforts, and find out how to get involved.
No New Jail Coalition is comprised of individuals and organizations. Member organizations include Decarcerate Marion County, Indianapolis Socialist Party - USA, Indy10 Black Lives Matter (BLM), and Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ).
No New Jail Coalition held its first community meeting on June 5, 2017 at Kheprw Institute.
